Wildlife at Stock Hill

If you like watching birds then you will be pleased to know that Stock Hill boasts a variety of species from the friendly Robin and small but dramatically noisy Wren, to Buzzards, Kestrels, Spotted Flycatchers and Tree Creepers plus many others. The variety of owls that hoot at night may well surprise you, while the local bats will simply delight with their radar-guided, insect-seeking aerobatics. In summer the gardens are alive with many varieties of butterfly. Peter Hauser has encouraged them with plants and shrubs that offer nectar and food when they need it most. Buddleia, Sedum and Marjoram feature all around the garden. Click on the thumbnails to see a larger picture. (Go back using the browser menu or right click and select back to return).
